Why is this important?

Through their cross-cultural experiences, many international students create a hybridized identity that combines elements from their home culture and their host country. People who have not lived or studied abroad may not understand the struggle of people who have. The economic, political and social advantages of internationalization are significant. According to Forbes, international students  provide billions of dollars to the U.S. economy every year, subsidize the education of domestic students and are a key source of talent that help make American tech companies the envy of the world. However, we may see a decline of their impact if international students are not fully supported by universities and their fellow students. International students may experience cultural barriers, lack of understanding, racism and other problems that brings negativity to their study abroad experience and result in a dampened experience for both the international students and domestic students.
United States attracts a great amount of international students each year, so it is important to develop a mutual sense respect and build an relationship between Americans and people around the world. Internationals students can receive benefits from study and life in the U.S. They also get a chance to explore different cultures, learn new ways of thinking and gain cross-cultural skill and knowledge. Simuletaneously, international students have great impacts on their fellow students. They create a cultural and intellectual environment for the U.S. students, and provide opportunities for them to challenge their existing beliefs and values. This can influence domestic students’ intellectual growth and skill development, and help them to gain a richer world view and set of life skills.
